These terms and conditions apply to all orders for Cryptic Cargo services between the person ordering the Cryptic Cargo service or gift card (“subscriber”, “customer”) and Cryptic Cargo Ltd (Business ID: 2853646-4, address: Vetehisenkuja 5 B 29, 00530 Helsinki, Finland) (“company”).
The parties, the customer and the company, enter into an agreement for the purchase of an escape room experience, event escape game, additional services, and/or a gift card. This document governs the terms and conditions of said order.
As a general rule, services are ordered based on a request for a quote or other inquiry sent by the customer via Cryptic Cargo's website. Sending a request for a quote or an inquiry does not bind the customer to order the service, nor does it constitute a reservation or contract in itself.
Cryptic Cargo is not obligated to carry out an event or hold a specific date reserved based solely on a request for a quote, an inquiry, or the sending of a quote.
By accepting Cryptic Cargo's quote, the customer agrees to the terms and conditions set out in this document.
These Terms and Conditions have originally been prepared in Finnish. This English version is provided for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the Finnish and English versions, the Finnish version shall prevail, subject to any mandatory provisions of applicable law.
You must be at least 18 years old to place an order.
The ordering of services is based on a request for a quote or other inquiry sent by the customer. Cryptic Cargo will send the customer a quote specifying the essential details of the order, such as the service content, date, and the total price of the package.
A quote is not binding on the customer until they accept it. The customer may accept the quote in writing, for example, via email or another method agreed upon by the parties.
A date mentioned in a quote does not constitute a binding reservation until the order is confirmed. The event date and booking are only confirmed once the customer has accepted the quote and Cryptic Cargo has sent a written order confirmation to the customer.
Unless otherwise agreed, Cryptic Cargo is not obligated to hold a date mentioned in a quote until the customer has accepted the quote and Cryptic Cargo has confirmed the order in writing. If the customer accepts the quote only after the date mentioned in it is no longer available, Cryptic Cargo is not obligated to carry out the event on that date. In such cases, the parties may agree on a new date, or Cryptic Cargo may provide the customer with a new quote for an alternative arrangement.
During the ordering process, we collect the necessary contact information from the customer to be used for order processing, communication, invoicing, resolving potential issues, and any additional billing. The customer must always provide complete and accurate information.
Payment is made according to the agreed method, either via a payment link or by invoice.
If the agreed payment is not received by Cryptic Cargo by the due date, Cryptic Cargo reserves the right to withhold the service, cancel the upcoming order, or collect the overdue payment along with interest and collection fees in accordance with applicable legislation.
If Cryptic Cargo has reason to believe that a customer intends to act fraudulently or in a manner harmful to Cryptic Cargo, Cryptic Cargo reserves the right to cancel the customer's order.
The payment method is agreed upon at the time of ordering. Payment can be made via a payment link sent by Cryptic Cargo or by invoice.
Paytrail Oyj (Business ID: 2122839-7) acts as the payment service provider and intermediary for payment links, in cooperation with banks, credit institutions, and other payment service providers.
Paytrail acts as the payment intermediary for payment links. Paytrail Oyj will appear as the payee on the customer's bank statement or credit card bill and will forward the payment to Cryptic Cargo Ltd Oy.

The payment methods available via the payment link are determined by the specific link used and the payment options provided by Paytrail.
If payment is made by invoice, the payment terms, due date, and other billing-related conditions will be stated in the quote, order confirmation, or invoice.
If the customer fails to pay for the order via the payment link or invoice within the agreed timeframe, Cryptic Cargo has the right to withhold the service, cancel the upcoming order, or collect the overdue debt with interest and collection fees in accordance with applicable legislation.
In the event of a complaint, please contact Cryptic Cargo in the first instance.
Gift cards purchased through Cryptic Cargo have a 14-day return policy from the date of receipt. If a customer wishes to cancel a purchased gift card, they must notify us in writing at contact@crypticcargo.com within 14 days of receiving the gift card.
Cancellations are processed as soon as possible, no later than seven business days after the cancellation.
Because Cryptic Cargo’s escape room experiences and event services are leisure services scheduled for a specific time, they are not subject to the statutory right of withdrawal for distance selling.
The customer may request to change the booking date if necessary. To change a booking, please contact Cryptic Cargo customer service as soon as possible. Changing the date is subject to availability for both the customer and Cryptic Cargo.
If the customer cancels a confirmed booking more than 4 months before the scheduled event, the cancellation is free of charge.
If the customer cancels a confirmed booking 2–4 months before the scheduled event, Cryptic Cargo has the right to charge the customer 50% of the agreed or estimated price of the event.
If the customer cancels a confirmed booking less than 2 months but more than 7 days before the scheduled event, Cryptic Cargo has the right to charge the customer 75% of the agreed or estimated price of the event.
If the customer cancels a confirmed booking 7 days or less before the scheduled event, fails to show up, or prevents the service from being carried out for reasons attributable to the customer, Cryptic Cargo has the right to charge the customer 100% of the agreed or estimated price of the event.
The timing for cancellation terms is always calculated from the original confirmed event date. If the booking date is changed at the customer's request, the cancellation fee will still be determined based on the original confirmed date, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing with Cryptic Cargo.
If the cancellation fee is determined as a percentage of the price, the calculation is based on the total price of the event stated in the quote or order confirmation. If the final price depends on factors such as the number of participants or other details to be specified later, the calculation is based on the most recent estimate of the total event price provided to the customer.
For consumer customers, the cancellation fee applies only to the extent that it is reasonable under mandatory legislation.
Changes in the number of participants, individual illnesses, or other internal changes on the customer's side do not entitle the customer to a free cancellation, price reduction, or rescheduling, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing with Cryptic Cargo.
If the customer has already paid for the order and is entitled to a refund due to a cancellation, Cryptic Cargo will refund the applicable amount as soon as possible, no later than seven business days after the cancellation is processed.
Players and participants must follow the instructions provided at the start of the game, during the event, or in advance. If an instructional video is shown at the event, participants must watch it and follow the instructions given.
Items, equipment, props, materials, or other property belonging to the game, event, or service must not be broken, soiled, altered, removed without permission, or left unreturned. You never need to break any game-related item or material to solve the game.
For your own safety, no material, item, or substance belonging to the game or event may be eaten, drunk, or used in any way other than as instructed. Electronics or other technical materials must not be dismantled, taken apart, or misused.
Cryptic Cargo Ltd is not liable for any harm, loss of earnings, or distress that may be caused by playing the game, organizing games, participating in an event, or handling game items.
The client is responsible for ensuring that other participants are aware of these rules and follow the instructions provided by Cryptic Cargo.
Cryptic Cargo has the right to interrupt an event or remove an individual participant from an event if the participant endangers their own or others' safety, damages property, acts against instructions, or significantly disrupts the execution of the event.
All parts, items, equipment, and materials belonging to the escape game, event, or service must be returned in the same condition as they were at the time of rental, at the start of the event, or when provided to the client.
The client of the game or event is liable for damages to Cryptic Cargo for any items, equipment, or materials that are broken, damaged, modified, soiled, lost, or not returned during the game or event, as well as for other damages resulting from the intentional or negligent actions of the client or participants.
If a game or other rented or provided material is returned late, Cryptic Cargo has the right to charge the client for the rental of the additional days (€60 + VAT / game set / day) and any other costs incurred.
Cryptic Cargo may take photographs, videos, or other image material at occasions and events. These images may be used in Cryptic Cargo's marketing, social media channels, website, and other company communications.
If an individual participant does not wish to appear in materials published by Cryptic Cargo, they must notify Cryptic Cargo no later than the start of the event or as soon as photography is announced. In such cases, Cryptic Cargo will endeavor to ensure that the person in question is not identifiable in the published material.
The client is responsible for ensuring that participants in the event are aware that photos may be taken at the event for the aforementioned purposes.
Image material is processed in accordance with Cryptic Cargo's privacy policy.
The copyright for all games, tasks, event concepts, game materials, and all content on the website remains at all times with Cryptic Cargo.
Cryptic Cargo's games, tasks, solutions, game materials, event concepts, or other materials may not be copied, modified, commercially exploited, or used to implement your own similar service, game, or event concept without the written consent of Cryptic Cargo.
Taking and sharing individual photos and short videos of the event is permitted, provided that their purpose is not to present solutions to tasks, reveal key game secrets, or otherwise spoil the game experience for future participants.
Publishing solutions to tasks, details essential to the game's progression, or other similar spoiler content on digital channels, social media, or by any other means is prohibited without the written consent of Cryptic Cargo.
Anyone who copies, commercially exploits, or otherwise violates these terms regarding games or other materials is liable for damages in accordance with applicable legislation.
